Anthony's Broken Finger

On Saturday after swimming lessons we dropped Anthony off at his first big kid birthday party. It was Jacob's Spiderman/ Bowling Party and Anthony was so excited to go, he was talking about it all week. Jacob is like Anthonys big brother. Jacobs younger brother is the same age as Anthony and the three of them are good friends. Jess, Jacobs mom called us early, Anthony had tripped and a bowling ball fell on his finger and smashed it. His finger was split open so Anthony rode with Jess in the ambulance to the ER. Jess waited with Anthony until Eric and I got there. Anthony was a trooper. In the ER they took X-rays of his finger which showed that the tip of the bone was crushed. And shortly after the docs looked at it, they decided that we needed to go to surgery to clean it out and stitch it back up. Surgery was only 20 min long and Anthony did great. The recovery nurse told us that when he woke up he asked to go bowling. When we got home the treat bag from Jacobs party was on the table and he was so excited and asked if he could go bowling again. Anthony has hardly complained of any pain and is running around like nothing ever happened. I have no idea what it looks like yet, we are going to follow up with the surgeon on Monday.

His finger- it actually looked worse in real life.
