Anthony's Broken Finger

On Saturday after swimming lessons we dropped Anthony off at his first big kid birthday party. It was Jacob's Spiderman/ Bowling Party and Anthony was so excited to go, he was talking about it all week. Jacob is like Anthonys big brother. Jacobs younger brother is the same age as Anthony and the three of them are good friends. Jess, Jacobs mom called us early, Anthony had tripped and a bowling ball fell on his finger and smashed it. His finger was split open so Anthony rode with Jess in the ambulance to the ER. Jess waited with Anthony until Eric and I got there. Anthony was a trooper. In the ER they took X-rays of his finger which showed that the tip of the bone was crushed. And shortly after the docs looked at it, they decided that we needed to go to surgery to clean it out and stitch it back up. Surgery was only 20 min long and Anthony did great. The recovery nurse told us that when he woke up he asked to go bowling. When we got home the treat bag from Jacobs party was on the table and he was so excited and asked if he could go bowling again. Anthony has hardly complained of any pain and is running around like nothing ever happened. I have no idea what it looks like yet, we are going to follow up with the surgeon on Monday.

This is Anthony after surgery

This is him in the ER

His finger- it actually looked worse in real life.

Elliot's 9 month update

Elliot is already 9 months old! He is now 27lbs 4 oz and just shy of 30 inches. Elliot started swimming lessons this weekend, he warmed up to it quickly. He probably would have had a better time, but he has an ear infection. Here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks.

December

It took me almost all month but here it is: December In Pictures.
We started the month by cutting down our Christmas Tree.

Then we decorated the tree. Anthony was really excited about the ornaments this year.

Elliot is enjoying his first Christmas.

I LOVE matching PJS!

SNOWED-IN - This is what 16 inches of snow looks like.

Daycare Christmas Show- Anthony's class sang Feliz Navidad this year.

Our Snowman

By the way-you can still cut the grass with 16 inches of snow on top.

Elliot liked Santa- Anthony wouldnt go anywhere near him!

The Gempeler Christmas.

We found out that Elliot loves ice cream! He was screaming when it was all gone.

Elliot's 8 month update

Elliot is now 8 months old! I tried putting him on the scale and he is around 26 lbs. Anthony doesnt have to share clothes yet. Anthony must have grown too because he is finally fitting in his 3T clothes (except for the pants-maybe next year). Elliot is doing lots of standing and he is crawling fast. We have to "re-babyproof" the house and get out the gates. Here are the latest pictures.

Almost standing alone

Ready to push

Standing at the toy box

Loves the Packers

No more baby bathtub (mostly because he doesnt fit in it)

Mastered the step

Standing with Elmo

And smiling all the time :)

Elliot's 7 month update

Elliot is 7 months old and is doing pretty much everything but walking! He is trying to pull himself up, crawling, waving, saying "ma-ma" which was really scary cause i turned around and thought it was Anthony but it wasnt. And he has got a new tooth coming in too. Elliot also has his first ear infection, while we were there we got a new weight ... If you guessed over 25 lbs you would be right- 25lbs and 3 oz!!

And here a a few pics from our picnic at the lake on Sunday, it was such a nice fall day.
